Why Pomegranate?

If I explain it coming from my mind perspective; because of its symbolic and mystical/spiritual appearance in many cultures. Because in my childhood I have seen it in my grandparents’ garden, and in the ornaments of the old crafts of textile, wood works and ceramics.

But if I answer without analyzing, from the bottom of my heart, then I have never chosen it , it come to me, revealed itself and I welcomed it as it felt right, and so the story began.

What does the Pomegranate mean to me and in my ART?

As Pomegranate City revealed itself to me, I realized that the symbolism of the Pomegranate and it’s meaning changes from painting to painting; in one it represents heart, in another thoughts, dreams, mystery, initiation, promise, love, child, something precious or sacred. Often, I can understand what it means only when the piece is completed.

For me myself most of all it is symbol of life, and it’s blood colour juice inside makes me feel related to it very strongly.
